TAMPA, FL — The Save The Kids Foundation’s Gatsby Gala was an unforgettable evening filled with glitz, generosity, and a powerful message of hope. Hosted in true Roaring Twenties style, the event brought together philanthropists, industry leaders, and passionate advocates, all dedicated to advancing pediatric cancer research.
The highlight of the night came when Dr. Mildred Duncan, a trailblazing researcher at the University of South Florida, was honored with the Disruptor of the Year Award. Known for her relentless work in developing groundbreaking treatments for children battling Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumor (ATRT), Dr. Duncan’s contributions are shaping the future of pediatric cancer care.
Board Chairman Stan Liberatore set the stage for this momentous recognition, captivating the audience with a heartfelt introduction:
“Tonight, it is my honor to recognize someone who is saving our future on a global scale. Dr. Mildred Duncan is not only inventing and patenting groundbreaking treatments for our little warriors battling ATRT, but she has also dedicated over 30 years of exceptional service to USF. On behalf of the Save The Kids Foundation, we extend our deepest gratitude for your unwavering dedication. We are incredibly excited about these trials that bring us one step closer to curing ATRT. You truly deserve the Disruptor of the Year award, Dr. Duncan. We love you!”
